We finally decided to remove the old grass that would never grow and opt for turf. It looks so real you'd never notice unless you're standing on it. It's very soft to walk on and will last a lifetime. The great thing about this is camden and riley can play on it without getting dirty. The dogs can pee and poop on it and it will never fade. They've certainly come a long way with turf. Here's some pictures of how it looks:
